Last week I was on the back porch doing a little early winter clean up and saw some movement out of the corner of my eye. When I looked up I found this red tailed hawk sitting on the telephone post at the back of the yard. It is usually where the small birds and squirrels like to sit and watch me in the garden but this guy wasn't watching me. He sat with his back to me for at least 2 hours. Maybe more. The only time he made a movement was when I pulled out the camera. Then he turned his head, gave me a quick look and then turned back to his contemplation. I suppose I wasn't a threat and he obviously wasn't hungry.

Since I found the event to be rather odd and amusing I thought to give it this motivational quote by Henry Kissinger.
