Artist's Description
We have found, since moving to the Niagara Region,that summer time can bring a whole set of issues to the gardening table. Issues like long, hot droughts. This summer we went almost 3 months in scorching heat with not a drop of rain. Thus came these little beauties into my life and my heart. I found them this spring at the nursery when looking for a ground cover that was drought tolerant and I was not let down. This perennial ground cover wants full on sun and don't like or need watering. They only bloom when the hot sun is beating down on them and boy, they put on a show! They make a perfect ground cover for those hot, sunny locations that never seem to get enough water. I plan on buying a few more next spring to accommodate these, which have doubled in bulk this summer. They don't even need dead heading. The spent flower drops off and they continue to bloom from spring through to frost. I love this plant!
