Description
This is taken from a reenactment of the War of 1812 in Fort Erie Ontario. Everything was so realistic from the camps to the fort and the uniforms. The battle reenactments went on all weekend long and it was like walking into the past. We could talk with the actors and learned so more than I thought I would. Not to mention I came home with photographic treasures from the trip.
Here is the camp of the fur traders. When the soldiers traveled to a location to lay siege they often brought along their families to help in the work around camp. Following them were the trades to help make life at camp more comfortable if it was afforded. A warm fur on a cold night would certainly be felt of as a luxury.
