Description
Where river meets falls. The Canadian side of Nigara Falls is called "The Horseshoe Fall' because of the shape. It arches in a half circle and I think that is the reason it can be so breathtaking at times.
Tourists crowd to stand over the falls and see it but I find that to be rather sad as they are missing the whole picture. The river and rapids before the drop is always exhilerating no matter what time of year.
Many times, as in this shot, they open up he damns above and let the water come through at high speeds. This is when the water is clear and blue with white raging tummults. These are the times I think of the natives almost two centuries ago as they first happened on mighty Niagara. Can you imagine the awe they must have experienced?
Yes, indeed, it is the whole picture that tells the true story of Mother Nature's power.
